Attendance Figures

Attendance Figures

School attendance figures are calculated from the registers taken each day. This is at 8.50am and 1.00pm. Therefore each day is counted as 2 attendance sessions. If your child arrives late, after the registering period has closed, this will reflect in their attendance percentage.

We have a minimum target of 97% attendance as a whole school for 2016-2017.

We take the following actions to help to enable us to meet this target:

  • Monitoring attendance data on a half termly basis for all cohorts, and on a monthly basis for ‘focus children’ whose attendance in 2015-16 gave cause for concern
  • Continuing to only grant term-time leave where there are exceptional circumstances
  • Involving the Education Welfare Officer where a child’s attendance rate or pattern of attendance is a cause for concern

Having a good attendance at school is really important and we are committed to helping all pupils achieve good attendance.

Further information regarding attendance and absence can be found on our website through the links below:

Below you will find our attendance figures broken down by class and whole school.  Our target has been set at 97% by the Educational Welfare Officer and the national average in schools is 95%.

You will see that generally our attendance figures are above both the national average and our school  target.

Thank you to all parents and carers who work with the school to make sure that their childs attendance is the best that it can be. This is something we are really passionate about and we look forward to seeing this high percentage of attendance continue over the remainder of the year
