Keeping Parents and carers Informed

As part of our commitment to working in partnership with parents, we aim to ensure good lines of communication between home and school.

We communicate with parents and carers through various ways, such as newsletters, texts, emails and informal social events. The school has a Home School Agreement to support the partnership between home and school, and foster shared dialogue.

Parent information sessions on particular areas of the curriculum are held throughout the year, which can help parents to support their child at home.

In the Summer term, parents and carers receive a written individual report of their child’s progress and consultations with parents are held twice yearly in October and February.

Teachers will often make contact with parents and carers throughout the term to discuss areas of concern or if they have noticed changes in a child’s behaviour. Parents are actively encouraged to contact their child’s class teacher if they have concerns.

Members of the teaching staff are available in the playground at the end of the school day. Alternatively an appointment can be made via the school office or directly with the class teacher.

Website

There a wealth of information on our website including newsletters, curriculum plans and the schools key policies and documents. Parents and carers can also view what their children have being doing by visiting the class pages

The school also uses a texting system to communicate, this is especially useful for last minute reminders or for communicating messages to parents of trips are running late etc. Please ensure that the school office has your mobile number.

Emails

We also communicate by email including letters and newsletters. However if your would prefer to recive a paper copy please let us know in the office.
