Your child will be given a place to sit in class from the first day of school. This usually changes very quickly as I get more of a feel for the dynamics within the classroom and which children work well together as I get to know them. As a general rule, I change the seating arrangement within the class termly or as required.
In class the children are expected to work sensibly and fairly with all children in the class, regardless of their social preferences. The children work with many different children during the week, for example in different subjects or for different activities.
Whilst I understand that disagreements do occur, I will respond to these as I see fit. I am sure that you will appreciate the delicate balancing act involved in seating such a large group of children and whilst I am always interested to know of any difficulties your child may be experiencing, I seat the children in the places that I believe are the most suitable for them within the learning environment.
